Laure Franquès was born in 1984, she spent her childhood in the Pyrenees. (...)Laure Franquès was born in 1984, she spent her childhood in the Pyrenees. First, she studied contemporary theater at Toulouse University. During this time, she did several internships in stage direction and scenography, with the Italian director Roméo Castellucci. Graduating with a Master and after being a trainee as a radio program attaché for daily cultural shows in Radio France, she became involved in cinematic creation. In 2011, she co-realised Utöpia a short documentary shot in Finland during the Cine-Boat project with NISI MASA, the european network of young cinema. It was selected in many festivals. She improved her skills in a documentary filmmaking workshop in Les Ateliers Varan. There, she directed The Salon which was selected in June 2012, in Côté Court in Pantin. In 2013, she was a finalist of Paris Young Talent Prize in visual art with her short film project. Interested in sound, she completed her training in a sound workshop with the sound engineer and composer D.Deshays. She is currently an artist in residency at Villa Belleville,in Belleville Paris district. There, she is developing several projetcs on image and sound.
